Garry Taylor - Director & General Counsel

PROFESSIONAL CAREER
Prior to joining Croesus Project Services as General Counsel, Garry was Head – Legal Compliance of the Sydney Institute of Management. Previously, Garry was Managing Director of an international Investment Bank with offices in Sydney, Vancouver, New York, London, Dublin, Hong Kong and Singapore. He was also principal of a firm of corporate and industrial law specialists. Those activities involved him in international capital raising for corporations, distressed company “turn-arounds” and restructuring, industrial/employee relations, project scoping, negotiation and drafting of contracts, contract management, project management, corporate governance, legal compliance, industrial and corporate mediation, and managing related litigation.

EXPERIENCE/ACHIEVEMENTS
Previous experience includes the following positions: Director of a London based Merchant Bank; CEO of the largest Australian Employers Association in the road transport industry; Executive Director of a Marine Insurance company; Executive Director of a Commercial Finance company; Director of a Medical Research company; Chief Executive of a group of companies involved in gold mining, oil & gas, and building & construction; Managing Director of a financial services company that traded foreign currencies and delivered leading-edge EFTPOS technology; Executive Director of a Technology Transfer company; Managing Director of a management consulting firm; and part-time University lecturer in Law.

Garry is also a regular conference speaker, especially targeting the SME market. Topics include: becoming “investment ready”; attracting and structuring equity capital; public listing and capital raising on Australian & North American stock exchanges; maintaining industrial relations harmony, project scoping and risk management, efficient tendering practice, implementing best practice in project management, identifying and protecting intellectual property, essential corporate governance practice & procedure, and achieving corporate legal compliance.
